One of the most common applications of Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) is as food additive.
PCC is used as a food additive due to its chemical purity and its high specific surface area compared to natural calcium carbonates because it has been demonstrated that calcium carbonate in food is one to the calcium formats which is better absorbed by humans. For this reason is used as calcium support in different mixtures or as integrated of food additives.
