Coated varieties of Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (CALPREC PR) are used as rheology modifiers in a wide variety of sealants, and especially in PVC plastisol formulations applied in the automotive industry. Their use greatly simplifies the design of new formulations due to their easy dispersion, high yield value, and low viscosity.
CALPREC PR Precipitated Calcium Carbonate is also used in other sealant formulations such as: polyurethanes, MS polymers, polysulfides, epoxies, etc.
Additionally, the great advantage of CALPREC Precipitated Calcium Carbonates (PCC) is the possibility to have different crystalline forms resulting in physical properties adapted to the specific application.
For example, opacity and whiteness of PCC are important characteristics in certain applications (paint and paper), while in others rheological behavior is the key (sealants). Therefore, the different types of CALPREC Precipitated Calcium Carbonates (PCC) are different from each other and the peculiarities of their use in each sector must be specified in close cooperation with customers.
Highly reactive micronized Calcium Oxide is used as a drying agent in different formulations of adhesives and sealants.
Calcium oxide is also known as air lime, construction lime, chemical lime, masonry lime or flux lime.
