Calcium hydroxide and its varied applications

Calcium hydroxide or slaked lime and the specific products derived from it are of great benefit, it is reliable and especially effective for applications such as accelerating the kinetics of reactions, increasing the efficiency of absorption and guaranteeing a high degree of capture of gaseous pollutants. Moreover, a correct combination of the above-mentioned parameters of calcium hydroxide means that highly reactive products can be offered.

The different types of crystallization of the PCC and its practical applications

The production of the PCC is adapted to the needs of the client, since according to the size, the shape of the particles obtained, the distribution of the size of the crystals, and the surface area, different properties are obtained.

Cales de Llierca achieves the Gold award recognition of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) according to the platform for the sustainability assessment Ecovadis.

Cales de Llierca finishes the startup of the new hydrator

Cales de Llierca carries out the investment on a last generation hydrator to decrease the usage of natural resources. The investment will enable a raw material and energy consumption reduction when producing the top quality hydroxides. Calcium hydroxide is used for different applications, such as environmental (water, gas and sludge treatments, mortar manufacturing, agriculture, chemical, pharmaceutical and food industries. The calcium hydroxide made in Cales de Llierca has high levels of purity, fineness and whiteness.

Global Consumption of Ground Calcium Carbonates (GCC) and Precipitated Calcium Carbonates (PCC)

The global demand for calcium carbonates has been rising continuously and is expected to exceed 110 million tonnes. Demand for both ground calcium carbonates (GCC) and precipitated calcium carbonates (PCC) continue to increase for paper coating applications as well as mineral fillers for plastics industries.

Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) in plastic industry

Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) is used as a mineral filler improving the rheology and mechanical resistance of the plastic.

Cales de Llierca at the European Coatings Show 2017 in Nuremberg

Cales de Llierca was present at the European Coatings Show 2017 in Nuremberg from April 4th to 6th. This show is organized every two years, being a world reference for the coatings sector. We participated with our own stand in Hall 7, Stand 7-420.

Use of PCC in paper industry

In the paper industry, Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) is used to improve the wood fibres adding mineral fillers and additives to stabilize and give the paper consistency, which is obtained after the final drying.

Cales de Llierca is present in K 2016 in Düsseldorf
